I am a composer living in Clovis, California. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition at California State University, Fresno studying under Dr. Kenneth D. Froelich. I have had many premieres including Mother, Please (2010) with libretto by soubrette coloratura soprano Sharon Rogers. This collaborative project was premiered by the CSU Fresno Opera Theatre program. On May 4th 2012, I received a performance of his orchestral work, Innocence Corrupted. It was performed by the CSU Fresno orchestra under the direction of Dr. Thomas Loewenheim. In classical music, Carlos Gamboa has written works for solo voice and piano, sax quartet, solo violin, solo piano, brass and percussion, SATB choir with accompaniment, and much more. Outside of collegiate studies, I have played a wide array of video games and have taken an interest in video game composing. Soon to come will be a reel displaying my ability to write video game music. My favorite composers include the composers of the Final Fantasy series, the Fire Emblem Series, and of course, Koji Kondo. I largely am influenced by the more orchestral, melodic approaches to video game music.
My specialty is writing emotional music (especially piano) that can convey a solid emotion. I mostly send files out in MP3 format, writing either by using Sibelius 7 or Logic Pro and exporting as MP3.
