Authors description:
Howdy, my name is Meteo Xavier and like most everyone else on this website, I'm a budding game composer who wants some work.
I could give you a bunch of pretentious crap here, but I won't, I'll just cut it straight:
* I do melodic, energetic or electronic ambient, experimental game music best suited for platformers, SHMUPS, JRPG style games, puzzles and so on. I do not do film-style scores.
* I study Motoi Sakuraba, Hiroki Kikuta, Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, some Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yoko Shimomura, and mostly Japanese style composers, although I can essentially study just about anyone if needed.
* As a musician, my goal is pleasing THE LISTENER first, THE CLIENT second. My job is provide music as a reason to play the game, so I study the music styles of the most popular game soundtracks to effectively learn what draws a listener in. I produce the kind of music they want to learn on piano and recreate in MIDI.
* As an employee, my goal is flexibility above all. Music isn't an easy genre to work in, so flexibility must be imperative. Obstacles come and flexibility ensures the soundtrack is delivered on time with good quality. I extend flexibility to anyone willing to hire me, but I also expect it back to achieve quality on time.
WHAT DO I DIFFERENT:
Well, unlike most composers looking for work, I actually provide additional services and help as well. I can fix/revise text, I have PR connections and marketing experience that will be an invaluable source for helping your game get out. I can't promise every videogame website on the planet will be covering your game, but I have their email addresses all the same.
I'm not just looking for an avenue to publish a game album and have people worship me as the next Uematsu, I'm committed to getting the game out and covered in the press as best I can help as well. Again, flexibility is the name of the game here and you can contact me with any questions.
