I am an internationally commissioned composer for ensembles, dance, audio books and film. My work is visceral and is inspired by nature and colour to give a sense of breathing and living. I tailor scores to performers, but use open notation so it can be adapted by others. I am the co-founder and co-artistic director of Contemporary Arts Jazz Ensemble. Since graduating with Distinction in MusM Instrumental and Vocal Composition from The University of Manchester in 2018, notable achievements are

Selected for International Composers Plus Summer Academy, Lithuania where I wrote ‘Dvasia’ and ‘Breathe: Both of which are published by International Composers Plus Summer Academy Commissions for Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera (‘What Happened to Anne’), Whitworth Art Gallery (‘Seascape’) and Manchester Camerata in partnership with Alliance London (‘Fantasia’).

Commissioned by Clarinet Quartet Etherow Reeds (‘Convergence’). Selected as a member of the Millenium Composers Initiative, a worldwide scheme that provides composers with commission opportunities. This was immediately followed with my first US Commissions for: Sputterbox Collective, Brooklyn, USA (delayed by Covid 19), Dance Moves of Charleston, North Carolina, USA (‘Skyggen’) as well as a series of cross-collaboration visual arts and music compositions with New York artist Sara Galkin (delayed by Covid 19). Further commissioned included an orchestral score ‘Terra et Petra; for the community group, Downland Ensemble, I also started my own series of workshops, teaching children and adults live-improvisation.

Commissioned by Zen Duo, Baltimore, USA, where I wrote a saxophone duo inspired by Paul Klees Canon of colour: A theory that places the colour wheel in three-dimensional space. Commissioned by the Arc Project UK where I wrote a solo cello work inspired by lucid dreaming, with the principal that this work will be constantly referenced in multiple projects, creating an almost infinite web of compositions that branch out from and intertwine with it. I created the scratch score and workshop performance of Tiresias 2.0: A collaboration with Librettist Sam Redway and Mezzo-Soprano Rosie Middleton which combines modern and ancient instruments and sounds to create a futuristic yet deeply primal soundscape.

Commissioned theme tune for audio book. Current project is ‘One a day’ a series of short pieces for emerging UK and International musicians, who record the works to create a lockdown online collage performance. This year I am focussing on creating my own opportunities and extending my compositional range, instrumentation and inspiration: I am particularly interested in writing music for games so please get in touch!
